Animal Experiences

Koala Experience

Meet Australia’s friendly, furry friends who you can not only pet, but also give a cuddle! As one of the few places in Australia where you can actually hold a koala, this is one for the Koala lovers. For an additional fee, you can have your photo taken and meet the keeper!  

The Reptile Experience

While these creatures are certainly cold blooded, they are just as fascinating and friendly. Hold a snake, tickle a lizard and get an unforgettable picture taken with any of these fantastic beasts!

The Butterfly Experience

Featuring a fluttering, colourful butterfly enclosure, which is the only one that exists in South Australia, Cleland Wildlife Park offers unique, butterfly guided tours which are available Tuesday- Friday.  

The Wombat Experience

Home to Fred the wombat, Cleland Wildlife Park allows its customers to meet Fred up close and learn all about his life and habits. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to meet these friendly, furry creatures today!

Getting there

Cleland Wildlife Park is easily accessible by both public transport and car, as it is located only 20 minutes from Adelaide City Centre. 

  • Car Parking: there is free car parking available on site. You can take the South Eastern Freeway to Crafters Exit and then follow Summit Road until you get to the Cleland turn off. 
  • Public Transport: you can look up how to reach Cleland Wildlife Park by public transport and use ‘Stop 27 - Cleland Wildlife Park.’  

Useful Information

Food and Drink

Enjoy a bite to eat at The Cleland Cafe, you can enjoy a wide range of products from 9.30am- 5pm. The cafe is also happy to host birthday parties and events. The cafe is completely sustainable, selling reusable cups, bottles and straws are no longer available.  

You can also enjoy a bush barbie which is available, free of charge, from the beautiful bush setting.  

There are also several picnic tables, so you can bring your own picnic and enjoy!

There are also several disabled facilities, including toilets and accessible paths throughout the park.
