These cuddly mammals are a must-see whilst visiting Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to over 50 of these friendly creatures. Koalas need up to 20 hours of sleep per day due to their eucalyptus leaves diet, so you may catch them having a snooze!

Unlike the famous cartoon, Tasmanian devils are much more shy creatures in real life and are known for scavenging dead animals instead of killing their own prey. As part of a conservation project, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has bred 9 tasmanian devils.

Car: you can park in the sanctuary’s car park or alternatively use the free street parking. If you are travelling from the South, then travel along the Pacific Highway onto the Gold Coast Highway. If you are travelling from the North, then turn south on the Gold Coast Highway to Currumbin. From the M1 motorway, take the 95 exit to Stewart Road.
