Animals

Koalas

Meet these cute, cuddly creatures hanging out in the trees or in the koala nursery and take a picture to capture the moment! Discover the enchanting nature of these iconic bears with their fluffy ears and endearing personalities. Unique to Australia, these lovable creatures can often be spotted lounging in the crook of a tree or indulging in eucalyptus leaves.

Kangaroos & Wallabies

Paradise Country features two kangaroo species and one wallaby species in nearly one acre of habitat at the park center. Explore the Wildlife Walk to encounter these macropods in their bushy surroundings. Kangaroos have large tails for balance, are herbivores, and rear joeys in their pouches. Red kangaroos can reach over 2 meters tall and 90 kilograms. Wallabies, smaller and weighing 2-24 kilograms, typically display fur with 2-3 hues.

Tasmanian Devils

As opposed to the iconic cartoon, Tasmanian devils are curious creatures which are also the largest living carnivorous marsupials in the world and are certainly worth getting to know at Paradise Country. Learn fascinating facts about them, like how they consume up to 40% of their body weight daily, that newborns are tiny as rice grains, and that their powerful jaws rival the strength of metal.

Dingo

Witness Australia’s formidable predator, the Dingo, at Paradise Country. Observe its natural habitat designed for comfort, offering guests a close encounter with this native mammal. Dingoes, resembling dogs but distinct with their howling, communicate across vast distances. Ranging in size and color, they inhabit most of Australia’s regions, excluding Tasmania.

Wombats

Discover the incredible wombats, renowned for its expert digging and burrowing skills. They excel in excavating homes, outpacing human diggers, and thriving in solitary lives. Paradise Country hosts the three wombat species, including the endangered Northern hairy-nose wombat, with their surprising agility and vegetarian diet.

Meerkats

At Paradise Country, an endearing Meerkat family resides in their permanent abode. Native to African grasslands and deserts, these sociable creatures live in burrows, crafted with their sharp claws. A 'mob', 'gang', or 'clan' typically consists of 20 to 50 meerkats.

Marmoset Monkeys

These charming little monkeys are located at the heart of the park in their new exhibit near the Farmhouse Restaurant. Witness their playful antics as they explore and feast. These tiny primates, often twins, boast claws on all fingers except the big toes.

Birds

Paradise country is home to a colourful and varied selection of birds including the kookaburra, cockatoos, galahas, rainbow lorikeets and emus, the most enormous birds in the world which are not hard to spot!

Reptiles

These cold-blooded, captivating creatures, such as pythons, goannas, lizards and more are fascinating to look at and you can also learn all sorts of interesting facts about these incredible creatures. Please note, Paradise Country is closed on Christmas Day (25th December) and ANZAC Day (25th April).

How to get there

Paradise Country is located at Production Drive, Oxenford Gold Coast, Queensland QLD 4210 Australia, just 40 minutes from Brisbane and 15 minutes to Surfers Paradise. 

  • Car: take Exit 60 off the M1 (Pacific Motorway). Drive along Roadshow Way between Australian Outback Spectacular and Topgolf, then turn left onto Production Drive. You'll find the carpark past Village Roadshow Studios.

  • If you have any access requirements, then please visit guest services on arrival to discuss any way that the park can provide support or call on the Guest Services team on 07 5588 1607.The park strives to be fully accessible. There are ramps, toilets and accessible parking available throughout the park.
  • There is a complimentary Companion Card available for wheelchair users, but please produce a Carer’s Card issued by the Commonwealth. There are also discounted rates available for those who present a Disability Card. 
  • Wheelchair hire and accessible parking is available. 

Food and Drink

Enjoy a bite to eat at the Farmhouse Restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kids eat completely free!

Excellent The kids loved meeting the farm animals such as pigs, sheep etc. but there are also bigger animals like kangaroos. The restaurant is also delicious.
