Operated by Perth Wildlife Encounters, Penguin Island boasts idyllic white sandy beaches and beautiful waters where you can discover other marine creatures, including wild dolphins and sea lions!

Penguin Island Wildlife Cruise

On the Penguin Island Wildlife Cruise you can experience the mesmerizing wild dolphins and playful sea lions jump, leap and chatter in the wild on a 90 minute tour, which will disembark on Penguin Island, where you can enjoy idyllic beaches, viewpoints and nesting seabirds.

The tour also includes a guided walk on Penguin Island and a Glass Bottom Boat Cruise, where you can discover an array of breathtaking marine life and rich wildlife.

How to get there

Cómo llegar a Penguin Island

To get to Penguin Island, you need to go to Rockingham Wild Encounters, which is located opposite the island, and then you will take the ferry on the wildlife tour boat to access penguin island. The Rockingham Wild Encounters address is:

153 Arcadia Dr, Shoalwater WA 6169, Australia 

  • Self-Drive: if you are driving from Perth, you should allow 45 minutes to one hour to reach the island. There is free car parking on site and overflow parking available at the Safety Bay Bowling Club, which is only a short walk away. After this you can take the ferry. 
  • Train: you can take the train south from Perth on the Mandurah Line and then disembark from Rockingham Station. 
  • Bus: you can take bus 551, 552 or 553 from stands 9 and 10 then get off on Penguin and Watts Road.

Food and Drink

If you fancy a bite to eat then you can enjoy a delicious meal at the Pengo’s Cafe, which is open from 8am - 3pm.The restaurant offers incredible cakes, gourmet burgers, fish & chips and fresh salads.
