An internationally acclaimed composer and songwriter, musical genius Tim Minchin’s talents also extend to the realm of comedy. An award-winning comedian, Tim Minchin is known for his satirical style and witty humour which makes him stand out from the crowd.
Tim Minchin was born in Northampton in the UK and was raised in Perth, meaning that he is of dual Australian and British heritage. Tim Minchin has written the score for several leading musicals including the multi-award winning Matilda the Musical, Groundhog Day as well as co-writing and starring in the highly successful TV series Upright. He has also released a plethora of studio albums and his most recent solo album Apart Together in November 2020, which has been met with critical acclaim.
With regards to his comedic career, Tim Minchin first moved into comedy with his solo show Navel - Cerebral Melodies with Umbilical Cords in 2003 and his show Darkside really gained him prominence, as it appeared at the 2005 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and 2005 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. A polymath and national treasure, Tim Minchin has been awarded an honour Doctor of Letters degree from the University of Western Australia for his contribution to the arts.
