A part of the non-for-profit Zoos Victoria conservation organisation, Healesville Sanctuary is dedicated to fighting extinction and is home to a wide range of native animals including koalas, wallabies, possums, tasmanian devils, mice, an array of 200 colourful bird species and fascinating insects.

Located in rural Australia, Healesville Sanctuary offers a variety of once-in-a-lifetime animal encounters, such as the Dingo, Koala, Kangaroo, Python, Echidna and Platypus close-up experiences. Grab your tickets today for a fun-filled and educational day out!

Animals

Dingoes

Koalas

How to get there

Healesville Sanctuary address: Glen Eadie Ave, Healesville VIC 3777, Australia

  •  Public Transport: if you are travelling to Healesville Sanctuary by public transport, catch the train to Lilydale, you then need to take the 685 bus to Healesville.  
  • Car: if you are travelling by car from Melbourne, take the Eastern Freeway out of Melbourne and then drive East through Ringwood and Lilydale to Healesville. You can then follow the signs all the way to Healesville Sanctuary.  
  • ZooBus shuttle: you can take the direct shuttle ZOOBus service from Melbourne directly to Healesville Sanctuary

Zoos Victoria is dedicated to making their experiences accessible for all and is always happy to accommodate any access requirements. If you have any questions, please call beforehand. 

Welcoming assistance animals

Assistance animals are welcome to Healesville Sanctuary, however due to the new covid restrictions, they are not allowed in every area of the park.  

Discounts for Carer and Companion Card holders

There is a free discount available for any carers who are accompanying a person with a disability.  

Food and Drink

Located in the centre of Australia’s incredible wine region, Healesville Sanctuary offers a wide range of food, drink and coffee as well as wines from the Yara Valley. There are three cafes available at Healesville Sanctuary.
