In "& Juliet’", David West Read poses a world where Juliet’s story didn’t end with Romeo’s tragical outcome, but instead marked the beginning of her personal journey of self-discovery and second chances. The iconic songwriter Max Martin delivers a catchy and cheerful soundtrack that graces the stage in this uplifting show, proving that there’s life beyond Romeo.

Marked by its acclaimed premiere in London’s West End, "& Juliet" has achieved 8 x Olivier Awards nominations, being one of the most sudden and remarkable theatrical accomplishments on Broadway. This way, Rob Mills, Casey Donovan, and Amy Lehpamer headline this exceptional Australian ensemble alongside the unexpected emerging talent Lorinda May Merrypor as Juliet, praised as “A revelation” by The Age. Featuring the outstanding theatrical abilities of Hayden Tee and Blake Appelqvist, this unconventional musical also reunites the new talents of Jesse Dutlow and Yashith Fernando that have proven to deliver sensational performances.

Plot

William Shakespeare himself introduces us along with his wife Anne Hathaway to the latest production of "Romeo and Juliet", but this time, Anne proposes a different ending. In the new narrative of "& Juliet", we discover what would happen if Juliet chose to go on with her life instead of a tragical ending. William and Anne's story takes Juliet on a journey to Paris with her nurse Angelique, and newly accquantainces May and April, where she meets Francois, who will make her question her feelings. Meanwhile, Shakespeare and Anne debate Juliet's fate, and the cast takes centre stage. The relationships and feelings between the characters unravel as the story continues accompanied by the perfect matching tunes. Will Juliet marry Francois? Will she fall back in love with Romeo? Or will she go her own way?
